Angel and Trevor*, a family of five with three young children, are facing homelessness due to an unprecedented flood in their apartment complex. The main line for the fire sprinkler system cracked directly above their apartment and flooded it in a matter of minutes. They spent yesterday moving items and furniture so the clean-up crew could suck out the water and try to dry it out. Now, they have been told they will be unable to return at all. Overnight, they are having to figure out how to get a storage unit for their entire home, find affordable housing, figure out where to stay in the meantime, try to cover moving costs, replace lost items, navigate the legal system due to unethical and baseless claims of negligence, and come up with enough money for a new deposit. They are doing all of this while dealing with the mental and emotional toll something like this causes. We have the pleasure of working with Angel on a regular basis and she works tirelessly to help people in our community. We would love to help her in return. Anything is greatly appreciated.
