She lost her job at Walmart in January 2026, after nearly four years of employment and has been actively seeking work. She is working with the Department of Labor to resolve issues filing for unemployment. She currently receives SNAP and Medicaid benefits and is participating in mental health counseling. In May, she was involved in a serious car accident caused by a heart-related medical emergency. She was hospitalized for several days and required a pacemaker. While her medical expenses are covered by Medicaid, her vehicle was totaled, creating additional barriers to finding employment. Despite these challenges, she has remained proactive by seeking assistance from multiple community organizations and churches in hopes of securing more funds to help with the amount. She has secured $300 in rental pledges so far and is continuing her job search. As of June 25, she has received a three-day notice and owes $2,040 in past-due rent by June 30.
