Help a single mom with three young kids who fled abuse
This single mom of three young kids is struggling with transitional housing and rebuilding her life after leaving an abusive home. Although she was on her way to stability, her car broke down and the repair outweighed the cost of the vehicle itself, so she was immediately left without transportation, which made her lose her job because it was in Clark Fork and she no longer had transportation to get there. She is currently applying to places she can work at locally that she can walk to, but she desperately needs a functioning vehicle to be able to transport her children and herself, instead of walking everywhere during the winter. Since she lost her job, she is now falling behind on her transitional housing rent at Bonner County Homeless Transitions ($600 per month), and is at risk of losing her housing altogether. She has found a potential replacement vehicle, but she will need to register it in her name and potentially service it with flushing out fluids to make it safe and drivable (approx. $200). So, her biggest needs are assistance with rent so she doesn't lose her transitional housing and she needs help with getting a vehicle so she can work and have transportation for her kids. Once she has stable transportation, she will be able to get gainful employment, and continue moving forward. She has been connecting with resources and doing everything she can. We would love to help support her and her kids through this difficult time.

Extra note: Did you know that domestic violence is a leading cause of homelessness in the United States? “Between 22 and 57% of all homeless women report that domestic violence was the immediate cause of their homelessness. Additionally, 38% of all victims of domestic violence become homeless at some point in their lives.” (National Network to End Domestic Violence)
