A disabled single dad with shared custody of a 7 year old boy needs help keeping his home. He was in a car wreck and hit his head, which resulted in a brain injury. He receives $800.00 a month disability and food stamps but it’s only enough for immediate bills of rent/ utilities (600.00), food and gas. His truck died and he needed $1,200.00 to buy another vehicle and had to use rent money, which put him two months behind on rent. His landlord was kind but needs to be paid ASAP now. He has received $750 in assistance from other non profits but is still short $450.00. He is going to school to be a mobile automotive mechanic so he can service cars/ trucks for low income customers. Despite his brain injury he is learning to be a mechanic as it’s always been something he loves to do. He wants to give back when he graduates in a couple years, but he will be evicted if he can’t pay his back rent. This will seriously impact him being able to stay in school. He is trying so hard to be a contributing member in his community.
