Help a homeless family get into safe and stable housing before their baby arrives

$50.00

This couple needs help getting into safe and stable housing before their baby arrives. They have struggled with homelessness and joblessness for a while and have been living in their car. She is pregnant with their child and she’s due in April. They have been working with IdaHope Families to get on their feet long-term. He has been approved for social security disability, which he’ll start receiving in January. He has also been applying to work at multiple places and recently got an interview. They found a room from an acquaintance they know, and the landlord has been kind enough to let them stay the last few days without payment because they have been living in their car in the rain and cold. However, he needs some form of payment by Friday, or else he will have to give the room to someone else who has the money. He needs to pay his own mortgage, or else he will end up having to sell/foreclose, and that is why he is renting the room. Although he wishes he could let them stay there, because it seems like a very good situation for them both. The landlord is struggling to recover from cancer treatments and could really use the help around the house and property, as well as caretaking for his dog while when he is traveling, which they are excited to do as they also own a dog that gets along great with his. They just do not have the income they need yet to secure the place. The total move in cost is $1,200, but IdaHope families is able to cover $600, so we’re just hoping to cover the rest. This housing will help them to prepare for the coming of their baby, have space to cook, shower, and be presentable for work, as well as aid another member of our community who is also at risk of losing his own housing.

You can donate $50 - $600 by adjusting the quantity.

Thank you SO much for any help you can provide.
