Help a family facing hard times

$50.00

A former teacher recently had to leave her position in order to become a full-time caregiver for her daughter, who is experiencing severe mental health challenges. Over the past year, her daughter’s condition has been critical, including a hospitalization in the ICU at Sacred Heart, which has had a profound emotional impact on her and the entire family. She is currently dealing with extreme caregiver burnout and exhaustion. She was hospitalized last month due to overexertion and is now on a safety plan that requires her to rest as much as possible. In addition to the physical toll, she is also navigating significant emotional strain, including PTSD related both to past life experiences and the trauma of nearly losing her daughter last year. The family is under considerable financial stress. They have recently gone from a two-income household to a one-income household after she had to leave her job. She has applied for disability and is currently waiting for a judge’s decision, leaving them without stable financial support. She is caring for multiple children, including two younger children at home, while also supporting her 21-year-old daughter who is currently out of state receiving care for her mental health. Their most recent paycheck has already gone entirely toward bills, leaving little to nothing for basic needs. At this time, the family is in a highly vulnerable position and is in need of short-term support to help stabilize their situation, particularly with food and fuel.

Additionally, she has plans to take her daughter on a trip next week alongside her ministry lead pastor and her daughter’s godmother, in hopes of supporting her healing. She really believes this is important for her daughter’s healing. While Health and Welfare has agreed to cover three nights of hotel accommodations and most of the gas, the family still lacks resources for meals during the trip and the rest of the fuel cost.

The estimated cost for grocery assistance for the next two weeks and meal/fuel support for the trip is $650 ($300 for two weeks of groceries + $350 for gas and meals for the trip to help her daughter).

You can donate $50 - $650 by adjusting the quantity.

Thank you so much for any help you can provide. We are so grateful.
