A single mother of three kids needs help with rent. She receives $501 for child support from their father and her fiancé left her unexpectedly for another woman he recently met. It completely caught her by surprise as he just walked away leaving her with a truck they had just purchased and rent due in July. If she lets the truck get repossessed right now it will harm her credit score because she is the primary name on the truck loan and she needs a good score to get into low income housing in August when an apartment becomes available for them. To make matters worse, she hit a deer with her car (a second vehicle she has to make payments on) but the air bags didn’t deploy so it’s not considered totaled and insurance can have it fixed but she has to come up with a $750.00 deductible first. Both her parents died years ago or she would be living with them to sort this out. She does have a sister in North Dakota and will pack up the boys and live with her if she has to, but they would like to stay in the area if at all possible. She has been a consistent responsible worker in the area for years and is a personal care provider working for $15 an hour. Her hours have been reduced to 16 hours a week until the company gets more clients. She is looking for housecleaning jobs to supplement her income now that her ex- fiancé is suddenly not contributing to household expenses. If she doesn’t get her rent paid by the 5th of July she could be evicted and may lose custody of her boys.
