A hard-working single mom needs help with a car repair

$50.00

This mom has been working extremely hard to provide for her family. She has been a single mom living off of savings and public assistance until she recently acquired a new job that allows her make more money, but it also makes it so she doesn’t qualify for assistance anymore. She is pursuing her Bachelor's in Social Work while raising her kids as a single parent, so saving money has been hard. Caring for her young children without any state assistance or much child support, things are just simply tight, and she’s doing the best she can.

A few months ago, she accidentally ran over a small tree in a parking lot that was in her blind spot. She removed the tree and reported it to the police, but she didn't have it checked out because she thought the car was fine. However, months later her car started making terrible noises and she decided to get it checked. The drive shaft has been damaged, and the struts are leaking and need to be replaced. She reached out to her insurance company and they said that they weren't capable of applying her insurance because she only had comprehensive, not collision. This is frustrating because she specifically asked for coverage in the event of an accidental crash and apparently the agent didn’t understand and now she is left without coverage. She expected to pay the insurance deductible of $1,000 and she has savings for that, but now that insurance isn’t paying she needs help coming up with the remaining amount of $1,500. Any help you can provide is much appreciated.

Total amount: $1,500
