A family needs one-time assistance with rent
A married mom of 5, several of whom are adopted from when she served as a foster parent, is in a difficult situation. She hasn't ever requested assistance through our local agencies before, but she's faced several setbacks lately. In addition to her monthly rent increasing by $200 this next month, she had to leave her part-time job (on good terms) to take care of her 5 children over the summer since they won't be in school. She intends to pick up cleaning jobs here and there to supplement income when her husband is able to watch the kids. Her husband also started a new job at a Sheriff's Department, which is a stable, long-term position, but his availability to watch the kids while she works will be limited. On top of that, one of their cars started failing and they had to purchase car parts to fix it, and once it was fixed they got into a car crash (she was not at fault), which has likely totaled their main vehicle. All of these circumstances has made them short on upcoming rent. They are greatly in need for a temporary, one-time assistance with rent for the month of June, and she is sure they can handle the rent moving forward with her husband's new job, her part time cleaning, as well as supplementing their food expenses by applying for food stamps. She has also contacted 211 for assistance. Any help you can provide this family is greatly appreciated.
Total amount requested = $300
You can help cover $50 - $300 by adjusting the quantity.
Thank you so much for any help you can provide!
